Athletics group at night is stronger than ever. Our program doesn’t just ‘work out’ your kid for an hour.. it’s so much deeper. As a coach and a parent my obsession is proper development. Kids have a hard time focusing these days and this has to be taken into account. Drills and or games that trigger focus and interest (aka brain development) are added each session. Movements that require coordination and athleticism are not only taught but explained so that the young mind understands why it’s doing what it’s doing. Proper mechanics in regards to sprinting, change of direction, hand eye, lifting and carrying weight, etc are absolutely paramount. Last but definitely not least - IS IT FUN AND ENRICHING THEIR LIVES?!! Are they building something that will stay with them for their entire life!? It’s so incredibly easy to go the other way when it comes to our needs versus others. The drama train is always making stops looking for us to constantly jump on. But maybe, just maybe when we think deeper about those around us, about where they are at - we can all win. Enriching others is a gift that we all get. We can get caught in ‘poor little me’ or we can rise up and take the high road. I struggle like anyone else but each time I catch it - I grow, I learn, I enrich someone else and that is absolutely awesome.

It’s so incredibly easy to go the other way when it comes to our needs versus others. The drama train is always making stops looking for us to constantly jump on. But maybe, just maybe when we think deeper about those around us, about where they are at - we can all win. Enriching others is a gift that we all get. If you put a bowl of fruit on the table the kids will eat it. You as the parent are guiding them to greatness. If you are not leading by example but merely telling them to eat the fruit - they won’t. They’ll follow YOU.
Same goes for movement and activity. You as the parent must lead from the front. You must embody an active lifestyle or sooner or later they will also follow. 
First CONNECT to yourself via food and moving. From there your connection with your kids will only grow. You’ll be happier and more energized. They will follow you. 😊

After three days of brain swelling philosophy and ideology a much needed chance to soak it in - is needed. Simple brush burning, sun soaking, and getting dirty was the recipe this morning.

Training your body, working out, living a healthy lifestyle has become incredibly complicated. Why? Because we’ve forgotten how simple things are supposed to be. We are covered in distractions. T.V shows, news outlets, phones, tablets, screens, gossip, alcohol, drugs, pills, material items, etc.. The list is never ending. ———————————————————-
How simple can this process be?? 1. Nature. Connect to it. Spend time in it. From walking to cleaning your yard to studying the stars - just make it a priority. 
2. Move your body in a way that frees it from its problems. If you’re super flexible and lack strength - get stronger. If you’re super strong and stiff as a board - spend time on mobility. 
3. Study yourself. Have you lost the ability to jump? To bend? To dance? Take note and new roads will show up to help you get it back. 
4. Are you happy? The most important question of all. Switch it up constantly in order to find your happiness. 
5. Social/relationship health. I feel this has become a serious cause of people’s unhappiness these days. Spending too much time in the pretend world of social media and not enough time on meaningful face to face contact, body to body contact, playing games, playing with your kids, whatever! ———————————————————-
Happiness depends on your connections. Connections to nature, society/community, family, your self (moving), food. The more disconnected you are - the more you will suffer. Reevaluate, seek guidance, seek change, and seek truth. ———————————————————

Coming up one week from today: ‘Low Bar Back Squat’ 6 week wave! 
I’ve been researching the differences between high bar and low bar for years now and I have to admit for 99% of all people the low bar would be the smarter option. 
Depending on one’s anatomy or ‘levers’ the position will vary: 1) short torso, long legs equals more of a ‘bent over’ position. 2) long torso, short legs equals more of an ‘upright’ position.
We will discuss and explore more as the wave approaches. ✌🏻
